We asked Alli to design her dream living room with the In-Home Design process. She curated beautiful La-Z-Boy furniture, art, rugs, and accessories, and chose serene, calm colors for a soothing, relaxing room.

An up close look at Alli's designer choices...

The Collins Sofa and Loveseat

Alli: "I have found the Collins sofa feels perfectly at home in any home! With simple lines and put-together tailoring, it’s a style that looks good... and feels even better! It is a classic." The Collins features semi-attached pillow backs, over-scaled roll arms and box seat cushions with welted trim.

The Alayna Console Table

Alli: "This is such a feminine table! I love the gracefully arched hand forged iron finished in heavily antiqued gold leaf. The top is clear, beveled, tempered glass."

Rhea Nesting Coffee Tables

Alli: "This is one of the greatest ideas to add to a living room or family room. The tables are designed to nest as an oversized coffee table but with the ability to be completely separate, as needed. It is crafted from hand forged iron and finished in a heavily antiqued gold leaf. " Sizes: Sm-31x16, Lg-42x18

Reegan High Leg Swivel Chair

Alli: "This is such a fun chair! It swivels 360 degrees and is elevate by tall, tapered legs. It is not an ordinary swivel chair! It is casual and contemporary, and comfortable!"

Georgios Table Lamp

Alli: "If you have followed my prior blogs on design, you know by now how much I love neutrals...mainly, creams and whites. This lamp has a textured ceramic base finished in a distressed aged ivory glaze with dark tan undertones. The round hardback drum shade is hand painted in a khaki bronze which adds interest instead of being completely white."

Ocelot Pillow

Alli: "I love the calm colors in this rather busy leopard design! The fabric is chenille, so it is super soft."

Rectangular Drawer End Table

Alli: "I usually go with cream or off white furniture, but the gold and glass in the other tables lend a dressiness to the room, so I chose a dark wood to add a little bit of formality without being too fussy. Plus, the drawer and shelf make the table extremely functional. Things can hide in the drawer to keep the coffee table clear of clutter!"

A design for empty nesters with a puppy.

THIS IS HOW WE DO IT.

THE ROOM BEFORE
I took photos of my client's room.

THE VISION
Together we talked about their dreams and plans! We answered design questions and envisioned how they would live in a newly designed living room.

They wanted a full room design.
Room is in their current home, and is 16 X 14.
They wanted a coastal look and feel in the room.

LIFESTYLE
My clients are empty nesters with a cute puppy. They live a casual, coastal lifestyle.

THE DESIGN PROCESS

The Collins Sofa

I chose the COLLINS sofa for its traditional look and wonderful comfort.

The Roxie

I suggested the ROXIE CHAIR for its diversity...glide...swivel...comfort...and ROXIE knows how to wear a pattern!

The art

The bright POPPY colors in the art polish the room.

The tables

The tables are deliberately unmatched to feel "gathered"... Coastal in finish and design the console offers a touch of old world wood with storage. The metal and glass of the coffee table bring varying texture and function while reflecting light.
